1 coffee, 40 minutes, any tools you want. Make it better than anyone else.
This event will be on Friday, September 25th starting at 3 pm, but with timed slots ranging from 3 until 630. If you have time requests, please email matt@lekkocoffee.com after ordering.
We will provide a roasted coffee which you will get to cup when you arrive. Immediately after, the timer starts and you get to begin working on a recipe. Use whatever tools you want to bring or the ones we have in our roastery. Water recipes can be used, but no sugars can be added to the water.
The coffee will be from Juan Medina at The Coffee Five Project, but no other information will be given until you cup the coffee upon arriving. Judges will include Juan and Matt. Winner will receive 25% of the buy in as well as prizes to be announced. Competitors will get notes on their brews from the judges if they want it.
After the competition there will be snacks and drinks - we want this to not only be a competition, but a time for serious coffee professionals to get together and celebrate our industry. All competitors will go home with some sort of prize!

Any. We have a limited supply at our roasting facility, including an EK43, a few drip and immersion brewers. and a few kettles. Bring anything you want to utilize.

After signing up, we will reach out to you with a time between 3 pm and 6 pm. Results will be given at 6:30, snacks and drinks to follow.

While we don’t care what portion you brew with, we need at least 4 oz for each of the 3 judges in order to properly evaluate. Present in any vessel you deem appropriate - we will have options available.

There will be industry prizes as well as cash prizes. Everyone competing will be walking away with something from the evening.

Non competitors can come watch, and are encouraged to hang out during the after party!
